Who We Are

Genesis Church began as Fairview Wesleyan Church. The church was organized on August 12, 1932, following a tent revival in the Cottondale area, with 17 charter members. The first members worshipped under a shade tree several times and in the old Rainey house nearby the present facilities. In 1934, the men of the church began the project of building the first sanctuary that was across the road from where the current building is. Later in 1943, the first Sunday School rooms were added to the building.
Then in 1975, the sanctuary that is now Genesis Church was built and in 1985, the fellowship building was added to the facility. The church continued to minister to many in the area. The church witnessed a panorama of miracles of God’s grace and blessing. Many people from the church have and continue to witness to others locally, across the nation, and around the world.
The church restarted as Genesis Church in January 2022. The church is still part of The Wesleyan Church, but it has recognized that it is a place of new beginnings for many people. The church’s goal is to develop fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ who are passionate to reach the world with His love.
